Settle at Woodchester Valley Village, a unique retirement community near Nailsworth and Stroud in Gloucestershire, and not only will you live in gorgeous surroundings, you can really enjoy your retirement to the full.

Built from elegant Cotswold stone, our thoughtfully designed garden village for the active over 60's is nestled in a beautiful valley below the stunning National Trust grounds of Woodchester Park.

Our vision

To provide an idyllic independent living environment and gardens for young-at-heart retirees who will be interested in supporting the management of the village and, where appropriate, take part in local community activities. We do this by offering leasehold housing for people aged 60 and over who still wish to retain their independence and control of their own lifestyle, but where assistance will be available when needed and requested.

For now and the future

There are 38 houses and cottages and 33 apartments set amongst quiet lanes, peaceful woodland and pretty courtyard gardens. There’s also a guest suite available for your visitors, and a range of communal areas and services designed with you in mind. The village is ideal for those thinking of their longer term needs while in their late 60's or early 70's, wishing to free themselves of property- and garden-related worries, so that they can continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.

A 24-hour service

You can live at Woodchester Valley Village in total independence, but because we have support staff on duty 24 hours a day, there’s always help available, if needed, to ensure life is as enjoyable, stress-free and secure as possible for you.

Stay active and sociable

This wonderful corner of the country is rich in things to see and do, and there are always lots of activities and events in the village. We have a social and welfare group, a book reading group, knit and natter, a play reading group, art and craft workshops, wine tasting evenings, musical and other entertainment, illustrated talks, monthly special themed lunches and dining events, and frequent outings. Life in the Village is never boring!

Our stylish restaurant is open every day too, so if you don’t feel like cooking or dining out, you can book in for a freshly prepared gourmet meal just a few yards from your front door. Your meal can even be delivered to you at home if you prefer.
